hey grimreefer.. jaun is 30. ppl have posted plenty of correct solutions on here as well as on the form 3 thread. check it out

nooooooo!
y juan?
no, i have 2 grid in wrong :(

my daughter got 30 also - she also said that there are multiple correct answers to the question - any number where 2/3x + 9 + 1=something divisible by 3. It has to be divisible by 3 - she thinks.

The reason so many ppl got it wrong was that they added Juan at the end. It specifically states that there are 3x ppl in the line. If you set it up like so:

3x=x+x+9
you get x=9
total = 27 (+ Juan) = 28

The trick is adding Juan before like so:
3x=x+x+9+1
x=10
answer is 30

Is someone going to compile the answers this time?

For the question about how much area is in the shaded region of the rectangle, I know the answer was 3/4, but what if i put 75?

75 won't work but are you sure it didn't ask how much the triangles made up the rectangle, because i specifically put 1/4 for that

it was like what proportion is shaded.. which is 6/8 aka 3/4

what if i put 99/132

as long as its reducable to 3/4 which it is...but how did get 99/132

by multiplying 3 by 33 and 4 by 33

.....

theres not enough boxes for 99/132?

lol.. i thought you have to reduce to smallest fractions.

y the heck would u multiply em by 3 ...n yeh there are only 5 boxes i thought
