hmmm--Dream, must have not been a good day because when i read the problem I thought it was the bottom right angle and so it would be the rise of the line and the run...i remember choosing -2.24 so we may be talking about the same thing.

Does anyone remember the angles on that problem?

I remember choosing that too . . . though I don't remember the exact problem.

If I remember correctly it was an isos triangle with the bottom two angles at 66 degrees and the top one at 24.

Since tangent of an angle is equal to cotangent of 90-the angle, tangent of 66 is equal to cotangent of 24. Could that be it?--it would really explain a lot.

I think you're basically right. The bottom two angles were each 66, but the top angle was 48, or they wouldn't have added up to 180 . . . . Then you take the tan66 because the tangent equals the slope, but you make it negative because if asked you for the slope of the line that had a negative slope.

Ok thanks, galgrl. Dream got me really nervous because I already made two really stupid mistakes and omitted one.
Here's to hoping...

no problem . . . I really hope they have a decent curve . . . I think I've missed 1 so far, so hopefully I didn't miss too many more

If you attempt all questions, what is the maximum questions you can miss and still guarantee a 800?

It depends, it can vary from 4-7 I believe.

ive omitted 2 but so far in discussion i havent missed any. okay yeah with the bank one:

one of the banks gave him 10% of his ORIGINAL deposit each year.

the other bank gave him 5% interest each year.

the one that gave him 10% of his original would be better at first, but later on the other bank would be better.

Yea the top angle was 48, the two side angles were 66. If you did cotangent, you had to do cotangent of 24, not 48 (because you bisected the angle to make the triangle). The cotangent of one angle is equal to the tangent of its compliment. The answer was -2.24

If I skipped like 6 whats the most I can miss and still get a 700+...I'm not a math person at all....

fut - it really depends on the curve. I'm not sure what it is though. Someone should have the real SAT II's book though, and I think there's sort of a curve list at sparknotes

urg....do we get our scores may 23rd?

yep, scores should be online May 23rd

if we didn't register online can we still view our scores on the 23rd? If not when do we receive scores in the mail? thanks

if you didnt register online for this test, you can NOT view your scores online.

you will hvae to wait or call in. sorry if thats bad news.

Not true. If you registered you were supposed to get a registration number. You then put this number on your answer sheet in the space provided, and you may now go create an account using that same number. you are then able to get them online.

that makes sense. lol, i feel like an idiot. sorry if i misled you.

Wait How about if I changed my tests to SAT II's on test day but I registered online. What happens? Do I hafta pay the bill before I can look at my scores?!

I'm not sure waht it you mean damitssam . . . do you mean you changed which subjects you wanted to take? If so, I think they automatically change the billing and you don't have to do anything.

And if you don't have an online account, you can still get your scores about a week later. the dates are posted on the collegeboard site
