Sunday May SAT

The embargo has to be lifted. But what does everyone think? I think I got 1 math wrong and CR idk

^ Did you get ur score to the other test back? The makeup test.

Ya, I got it this past thursday so it was pretty inconvenient, but I had to up my critical reading so i took them again

^ What were your scoress? How was the curve?

@yo6522: I don’t remember that… probably experimental?

I took the test today as well. I put 10 pi. I didnt take account for the third point, but I had the diameter of the two circles combined and it went straight across the shaded semi circle. I had 1/2 piD for it’s circumference.

It took me so long to figure this one out! I assumed that the angle was 60 and then calculated 3*(60/180)P

Idk about that one, im confident about most of the others problems, it was pretty straight forward. Maybe 45/54 for math. Let’s talk about the writing and cr aspects. Should we create separate forums for the one’s who finished today? Im curious to know about other questions im unsure about, idk about you.

Do you mean: 30(60/180)pi?

JeremyIR: nope, P stands for perimeter… circumference to be more precise.

Yea now that I think of it that makes more sense.

In the very last problem of the math section, when it asked what c was in terms of a with when (a, ?) and (?,c) which were points on a line perpendicular to the line -1/4x+5. The slope of the line with the coordinates a and c would have to be the negative reciprocal of -1/4, making it 4.
So then c was a y value, so wouldn’t it be “c=4a” Since a is the x value.
So then the choices had slopes of
4a
-4a
and the rest were either -1/4 or 1/4
So the one that had 4a would be correct right?
It was 4a-13 and when you have parallel and perpendicular lines, the y intercept does not have to be the same. So -1/4x+5, would have to change to 4(a or x)-13
Does that sound right?

Jeremy IR: that’s not what I got
what I did was I found the equations in slope-intercept form for each point so one equation was ?=4a+b and c=4?+b (I can’t remember what the other numbers were either)
then I solved the first one for b making it b=?-4a
then I just substituted the b in the second equation with ?-4a and simplified it
in the end I think I got -4a+19

YES! Number 13 was so damn hard, I skipped it. With the overlapping circles? wow. On the last math section I think I got 52 for one of them. And I remember getting 38 for one of the grid-ins. Math was easy except for number 13.

Essay was awesome. For the Saturday’s interested:“Is the health of an individual a government responsibility” --Not exact wording. Honestly, anything in history; Great Society, Progressive Era, New Deal, all fit.

Direct Hits dominated the vocab, but once again critical reading is just awful for me. Whatever I have to get my mind off it.

Makes sense

Does anyone remember the answer for question 20 in one of the math sections, it was the one with a square inscribed in a circle with shaded area = 4… I barely remember what we were supposed to find! But anyway I think the options were 2╥ 4╥ 8╥ 16╥ and another number.
Anyone?

It was 8 pie. But, thinking back I remember leaving another math unanswered. It was the one with: If you have M (I think its was marbles I forgot) and you gained W, but lost K and you are left with ‘M-20’, which value can you solve for…Might have been experimental. Anyone wanna answer?

Oh thanks, I needed confirmation on that 8╥ it was driving me crazy!
on the question you mentioned I remember something with W-K… I really don’t know, this whole day is a blur.

What about that queston about possible values of something between 59 and 300?.. I did not get it at all (don’t even remember the exact question). Maybe there are some people with a more functional memory around to help? :)

It was how many numbers are there between 35-300 that satisfy 5(x)+1, where x is an integer. I put 59. Idk i just plugged in 59 and it was 296 which was < 300 and >35 and so then I had a thought that it would somehow satisfy being considered an integer. That one had something to it. I am glad I didnt omit it, sometimes its just best to go with what u have.

if it somehow said even integers and I missed that…then i will just go hide in a cave until it is acceptable to show myself again.
