<p>Harvard has never had <em>grade inflation</em> relatively speaking; what it had - but has no longer - was <em>honors inflation</em>.</p>

<p>Whether Yale is or is not a "safety school" of course depends on where you sit. For most students, it wouldn't qualify.</p>
