May SAT 2011: CR Section

@tlstoqur - Add repeated artistic technique to ones I think are wrong (along with accessibility of the paintings, view the paintings like art of today, and early attempts by accomplished artists). Anyone else?

I don’t remember the question that related to “offer a proposal” either. And, also, I think “people view the paintings as they view art today” is wrong; the answer/question is phrased differently, I think.

Anybody else in agreement?

Edit: Caperi, I agree: “accessibility” and “people view” were wrong. Or worded wrongly on the forum!

@jbchun - i didn’t like the venice one haha, glad it doesn’t count. for the first one about “venice hasn’t been home alone” i put that it’s a popular tourist destination. the one about the author’s response to the fog i put appreciation but it didn’t really go… doubt it was right. for the second passage, i said something about weather, cultural vs. commercial, stroller had enjoyed himself at a previous time. i don’t remember much else.

@dizzying the evocative question was like what best describes the effect of the cave paintings in passage one?

@caperi yes the gifted one was correct

Can anyone confirm the “early attempts by accomplished aritsts” question?

Also, i really DO NOT have a clue what the offer a proposal is about…

@caperi

what about - Offer a proposal?
do u remember the question?

anyone put humor instead of likely train of though? It seemed he was being sarcastic in the quote, since his point was that not many people realize it was play that the whale was doing.

@sauternety - I mean do you remember the question which had the answer of gifted? I can’t seem to remember that one

@anothergalaxy - I was pretty sure on train of thought

@sauternety36 Yes it was “early attempts by accomplished artists”. Honestly don’t remember the proposal question.

The accessibility of the paintings is validated by the use of the word immediacy.

The question with the offer a proposal was to why people might still view the paintings as they are so wondrous.

The question about the “accomplished artists” was how Guthrie would see the paintings.

There is a missing SC… It was firm…outspoken.

Anything else??

Just updating the Cave Paintings Passage:

Credibility (CORRECT)

Aesthetic power (CORRECT)

Beauty is eternal: reverent (CORRECT)

Playfully careless? (CORRECT)

Sympathetic (CORRECT)

General agreement? (CORRECT)

evocative and moving (CORRECT)

Offer a proposal (I DONT REMEMBER THIS CAN SOMEONE GIVE ME A CLUE)

gifted artists of the Paleolithic period (CORRECT)

“EARLY ATTEMPTS BY ACCOMPLISHED ARTISTS??”

can anyone confirm the “business : difficulty” question
its been forever to figure it out ughh

dude I did so good on the venice one… and I did horrible on the cave art one :frowning: it’s probably gonna make a 80+ pts difference if the cave arts one was experimental…

@abcdef - Wasn’t that question referring to passage 2? If so, Guthrie thought that the art was by random teenagers, not accomplished artists, right?

sorry can soemone tell me what the evocative and moving one was about?

anyone remebers more questions on the space/time one?

@Sorrow: I wish the cave art one was experimental too.
I was doing so well until I encountered it.
D:

yeah, I didn’t choose the acomplished artist one either… which one did u choose? I don’t remember my choice.

wait when has the dispute over general agreement and mild skepticism been settled?
it’s 100% general agreement?
damnit

^same here im wondering if its just an experimental someone was freaked out about

Sorrow - I’m having trouble remembering the question and the other answers as well…
