brandnew, what did you put for the early attempts/data question?

I don’t think they would even know how many times you took it if you don’t have it sent out to them…and why does it matter if you take it 3 times or 2 times?

what reading was the “early attempts” question from and what did the question say or ask because I can’t remember it

Sparks and Smoke question: Efforts
Jazz Question 1: Jazz is demanding
Jazz Question 2: Personal and Creative
Gurthie: Early attempts

the early attempts question was like this:
what would gutrhie think of the paintings in lines 13-17 in P1 (the one where the guy was waxing poetic about the bison hunters and this and that and it said they were “reproduced in textbooks many times”)
some of the chocies were data for _/ early attempts by accomplished artists/ evidence for and i forgot the rest

brandnew, I think I understand what you’re saying, I’m not too sure about my answer anymore. Either way I think that question is too close to either answer to be fair

@brandnew i saw a lot of “effort” for answers so im still not really sure if the futile and effort are different chocies… anyone help me???

Effort. It was effort.

Yeah that question was the only one involving the whales that I thought was tricky. The only other questions that were hard on the critical reading section were two of the paleolithic art questions. I put sympathetic and general agreement for the two I was unsure of…I’m 95% positive sympathetic is right but only about 75% positive that general agreement is right because I think an argument could be made for “reserved acceptance” or whatever that answer choice was…

Sauternety they were two different answers and my reflex response to the question was to put effort but then I reread the passage and thought more about it and decided it was futility and I am very sure of my answer for that one

anyone up for any cave debate??

Yeah it was between “cautious acceptance” and “general agreement.” I chose the latter.

The “Despite sparks and smoke” question had to have been efforts. I have no doubt about it.

i put calm indifference for the “general agreement” one. At first i had general agreement but i didn’t think it was write after some debate with myself.

I really hope it’s general acceptance, if I didn’t get a 2400 on this SAT my parents are kicking me out…

anyone remember their early attempts answer?

@jd…i hope you’re kidding. If not, you’re parents need to relax.

@sauternety i put effort

I’m quite sure I put the same as you, Sauternety. I remember immediately dismissing any choice that had to do with natural history and data…

@sweetpuri Well I have no doubts about it being futility so… And I mean just think of the passage as a whole… He talked about how much he liked experimentation and that he wasn’t sure if he was going to like studying whales because he wouldnt be able to eperiment on them…So if he liked experimentation and it WASN’T futile…then he would have just done experimentation on them…therefore since he was forced to only do observation it can be concluded that experimentation is futile…

Anyone care to tell me what the early attempts question is?? Because I have no idea what you are referring to…
