May SAT 2011: CR Section

@Dramamine Yeah, generations I think.

Blech I think I got like 3 or 4 wrong and I had 2 omits…maybe even more wrong.

concert: idealized for the panorama, and aggressive behavior of the high schooler.

@concrete, don’t remember what i put but i remember it wasn’t commemoration
@atomic, is it really generations? i dont think i answered that one… or i might have gotten it wrong idk

EDIT: the high schooler wasn’t exuberant? damnnnnnn

Does anyone remember the black concert one that was like “blossoms” most nearly means

I think I put ‘wild’ as a last minute guess…couldn’t get it

For the “Great Migration” question, did you put “feel like they could belong”?

^ i put wild too.

^dramamime: yup! i’m pretty sure that’s correct. i disliked that passage though

and i put wild! YES i think i actually did well on CR this time around. are any of you taking AP lang wednesday?

i said the high schooler exhibited “[something with a positive connotation] perplexity.” anyone else?

Yeah I put feel like belong but I wasn’t 100% sure about it.

Yeah the concert one confused me, didn’t really grasp it too well. I did much better on the space/nighttime and whale ones.

Yea Im taking AP lang too, it’s gonna be so much harder!

do any of you remember getting paradox in your one of answers (toward the end)?

okay good! the only passage i liked was the one on whales. the others i thought were a lot harder than they usually are, and a lot of the questions required considering the passage as a whole, rather than being able to find the exact inswer in the lines they gave. thats my opinion at least.

Sooo the girl who went to the concert…

-Dancing high schooler: exuberant or aggressive*
-Cherry blossoms: wild
-Crowd of people: unrelenting force
-Great migration: belonging
-Waiting for lifetimes: generations
-Bear most nearly means: progress
-The panorama of the city: idealized*

Not sure about some, but those seem to be the most common answers

@liv4physicz I remember picking paradox for something. The time/space thing I think!

ya i got paradox in one of my answers and i put feel like they belong in the black concert one too

for the space/nighttime one, when it was using imagery to like describe businesses and airports being open, did you get like “contrast between daytime and nighttime” as your answer?

^ i picked that liz

^^^ couldn’t that connote perplexity? that’s sorta weird to do, ya know?..

for the bear question i think i put like D, when i was answering that question i thought of bearing right/left when you drive lol…

for the bear question it was like “proceed”
