May SAT 2011: Math Section

That’s exactly what I though. If a^3/2 is right, then a^2, a^3 would be also correct bc we don’t know what the variable of proportionality is correct

There was a question that had a circle, and lines inside… they said the radius was 8 and they also said that one side was rad 3… It asked what the diagonal of one of the lines was…
The answers were like

7
8
a rad that was approx 8.2
a rad that was a approx 7.8
a rad that was a approx 13.5

I don’t think the coffee section was experimental, because I had it, and I also had three total writing sections (not including the essay)

Does anyone know what the math experimental one was?! I skipped 2 problems (the A^3/2 one and the 1/a + 1/b one) for math, so does anyone know if either of these were experimental (it sounds like the A^3/2 one wasn’t).

Sorry but none were experimental I had 4 reading sections and both of those problems.

A^2-b^2/ab was II and II, 14 consecutive digits being divisible was 1 or 2. Other random answers I remember pi, 4000, 3.84, 14, y/x, a^3/2, 2•2^1/2( the t^x) problem, for the two parabola question I got like f(b)=g(b), f(0)=-5, 7k=k2

I’ll post more if I remember more lol

those were both not experimental, I had them both and I had 3 writing sections

Anyone get .003 for an answer?

I had math experimental and I did so well on the section that didn’t count…but got effed over the section that mattered. :frowning: :frowning: :(

I was freaking out after the test, but it seems that I got most of the questions right

does anyone know what the answer was where it was a pyramid and the mispoints on its edges? i thought it was like

/
/</p>

but there was another one that did fit in my opinion

i just thougt that the word “dashed” is the clue, like dash (/)
does anyone share my logic?

What do you think I can get if I get everything else right? 780ish? How big can the curves be? Those two problems were tough!

And yeah everybody, coffee = 3.84, one of the other grid-in answers was 0, and the quadrant multiple choice one is 0 (could only have positive x/y coordinates)

@jetfan i think it was 0.03%, because it was percent…

what was the answer to the question where it had a circle and it said O was the midpoint and theres a diameter line across the circle and its broken down into 2 arcs. and the angle of 1 arc was 40 degrees. and it said if <LSA (i dont remember the exact letters) was 4pi, then what’s < LMP? and the all answers contained pi. I chose A… which was just pi. Did anyone else have this question or was that the experimental section because I had math experimental.

I got .3% .003 was the number I got but converted into %

Oh yea…was .003 an answer? I may have put .03.

Does anyone recall the exact 9/5 problem? Was it 3a/2b = 9/5 then it asked what is 9a/6b?

@nastezh i put the one that looked like a square because the question said that the lines had to be drawn on the faces of the edges.

@itheking yes thats what i did! but now im confused with all the zero’s. sdklajglksjdgl

the one with the arc was not experimental
I had an exp. writing and had this question

I also got pi

@samsam i got 9/5 as an answer
