May SAT 2011: Math Section

4/7ths of the registered population voted in 2001. If 20,000 voted that year, how many registered voters were there that year?

The square isn’t rotated.

can one student produced response wrong still give me an 800? please someone answer if they’ve heard of this happening or know if it always ends up being like a 780 or 790

In the math did u get a question with like (4/7) of a total population of like 2000
the question read 4 out of every group of 7 so I thought it was 1995 people which if divided by 7 would give u like 285 times four would be 1140 i changed that at the last minute but I’m not sure if that’s right

Yes. Well aware of it :D

i got like 3500 @shgggg… anyone get A for the last question for a section with n<=2

@shgggg, for that answer i added 4 and 7 together and got 11 and it said 2000 people voted so i divided that by 11 and multipled it to 4 to get 727.2 as the final answer. not sure if that’s correct

Anyone know what the experimental reading was?

xtol, you can’t have half people… its 4/7x=2000. x = 3500.

Yay that’s two wrong on math now, one’s a student response though and i think i omitted like 3 out of everything rofl

Wait, why wouldn’t the square be rotated? Wasn’t it connecting the midpoints?

And for the one about multiples of 13, wasn’t it “how many #s are divisible for every set of THIRTEEN consecutive integers?”?

if i missed ~8 math problems is that out of the 700s?

thanks for the quick explanation guys, I guess I missed the even part >_<

Costly mistake. 3 wrong in math section! :(

Yes, but it made a square when connected. It’s hard to explain lol.

OH WAIT! it said the lines connected the midpoints of the lines NOT on the same plane as the base. Meaning the steeple part

EDIT: no it said how many would be Divisible by 13 in 14 consecutive numbers

OH SHI regarding that pyramid question.

…So when is everyone registering for that retake

:( no one answers me, can a -1 in math still be 800? :/

yeah its the edges of the pyramid so therefore its in the same orientation as the bottom base.

and it was like one, two… not None.

i’m pretty sure the pyramid question was a square inside a sqaure… for the 13 integer one i put two choices

dang it! i got the 13 one wrong, and probably the pyramid one too. and i omitted two! ahhhh i wanted an 800 :frowning: do most schools superscore or no?

ej3313, nice only one wrong? I got 3 wrong, and no -1 will give you a 780.

what would a -3 give me? 50/54(raw score, after rounding for negatives).
