May SAT CR, Math, and Writting Official Thread

I made this thread to suit all for the May 1st SAT exam. Please give your advice on the best techniques.

March SAT Score: CR- 470 Math-650 Writing-560 (Essay 11)

Critical Reading: I need to get at least a 650+ in this section. Please give as much advice as possible.
Math: Just have to avoid those careless mistakes and get all questions right, hoping for 800.
Writing: I need advice on how to score a 700+ in this section and possibly an 800. The essay seems to get scored well but i loose points on multiple choice questions.

We have 1 week until the next SAT. Please give the best possible advice in order to help me achieve my scores. Thanks

You’re hoping for that big of an improvement? How much practice have you done (you only have a week at this point)? I don’t want to scare or discourage you, but there is a huge disparity from getting a 470 in CR and a 650 CR. Actually, the same holds true for math (the difference between an 800 and a 650 might seem pretty small, but in truth there’s a difference between not knowing how to answer a few questions and simply making careless mistakes as you mentioned in your post). Same goes for writing- it’s not that easy to go from a 560 to a 700.

I find your writing score a little worrisome actually… you got an 11 on the essay yet a 560 overall? What was your multiple choice sub-score? There is a serious problem there as well as in CR. If I were you, I would try and focus all your last minute efforts on raising that writing score. CR is more of a long term improvement type of thing, you have to read vocab books (I recommend Direct Hits) and also take a lot of practice tests to try and get accustomed to the questions they ask.

Your goal for the May SAT should be around a 530 in CR, a 700 in Math, and a 600 in writing. Good luck.

alihaq717 is right on the money. At this point, it is a little late for solid improvement.

I agree, score projections of that kind seem pretty unrealistic to me if you haven’t been taking BB tests and seeing those kind of scores on the practice tests.

‘writting’?

10char

^ obviously a typo :|
