When I was at Naval Academy Summer Seminar, one of the professors that we took a class with said that he had sat on the admissions board the year before. He said that he had never realized how much NASS weighed into the decisions, that it was the number one thing they looked at. Take that with a grain of salt, as it was USNA (compared to AFA) and one prof's opinion.

I have a question about Air Force Academy Summer Seminar. PLease answer my questions, It would really help. I know that you have to apply for summer seminar in your junior year in high school. How tough is it to get in? Does it increase your chanches of getting into the Academy?

While I was there this summer, the main admissions guy had a Q&A session for us, and gave a presentation on the admissions process.

If anyone was there, they will remember this one. "Yeah? If I took AP classes am I exempted from _______? J

Anyway... he said that about 50 percent of all the Summer Seminar kids receive an appointment to the USAFA. So evidently I edged out another one of my session mates!

Haha, squawk I remember the Q&A session. That was hilarious at the breifing the next day when someone tried to ask a question and got booed off. The officers were not too happy tho ;). Although I remember them saying that about 80% of the people who go to SS get an appointment, and like 40% or 50% actually go. The Summer Seminar as a whole is supposedly harder to get into than the actual Academy. There are lots of kids applying, only about 800 spots, so it is competitive. Going definitley looks good on the Resume but doesn't necessarily mean you'll get in.
