Maymester Abroad Programs

Anybody see anything really cool out there? D found a great one in Italy, unfortunately it won't work credit-wise (already had the equivalent class). English language programs only. Looking for social sciences, maybe art history, maybe public health, maybe religious studies.... who knows. It's really just a giant boondoggle as she doesn't need the classes/credits but hey......balanced life and all that.

I checked the study abroad forum. Somewhere off the beaten path might be nice. Saw a nice one to a college town in the Czech Republic and one to Croatia.

Does Southwest fly to either of those?

She needs to be back so she can deliver a paper (project, talk, whatever) at U of Manchester in mid/late June and will spend the rest of the summer back at the lab bench soooo.....she deserves a reward.

D1 is going to China in May. Getting business credit. What is cool to her???

If you google “may 2009 study abroad” you’ll find lots of listings. Some may be school specific, but, these are money makers for most of these schools, so they may take outside “exchange” students.

Daughter 2 is just a freshman so I don't know anything about how the May Term works yet, but Transylvania in Lexington has "The Ancient Polis", a trip to Turkey and Greece for philosophy and history credit, "Drawing on Ireland", for writing and art credit, "Contemporary Ireland" for political science and anthropology credit, and my personal favorite, "Diet, Nutrition and Culture", a trip to France and Spain for Chemistry and PE credit!!!!
