Do many MBA programs have any prereqs that are needed before you may apply?

For instance, do you need to have a certain major, or take a certain set of core classes before you can be admitted to the program?

Thanks a lot. :)

^ Not so much. MBA programs like a variety of majors. If you don't have the required fundamental courses, you will take them during the MBA program.

The only real requirements are:
1. GPA
2. GMAT scores
3. Work experience

Some programs like to see Statistics and Calculus at the least on your transcript.

I think this is an unwritten rule with all top B Schools and Tepper has just come out and said this... of course there are always exceptions (just like how Bush's aid got into Harvard Business School without a college degree)..

Frequently Asked Questions : Tepper School of Business

Are there any pre-requisites?

MBA applicants must hold the equivalent of a Bachelor's degree and demonstrate a strong aptitude for mathematics. Entering MBA students must have completed one semester of college calculus and either statistics, calculus II or linear algebra before matriculating. Candidates who do not meet the math requirements may be admitted with the provisions that they complete the necessary math courses before joining the program. We offer a Quantitative Skills Review Program (QSRP) to students who have studied calculus, but would like a review before classes begin.
