MBC Drama "GOONG"

anybody know if it come out on dvd yet?

in vietnamese or english subtitles

i don't know if it's on dvd yet. i get my episodes from coughthe internetcough haha.

wasn't daniel henney's mother adopted? or am i thinking of another asian actor?

aiiiiiii, more kdrama addicts?! :)

I'm OBSESSED with Goong, lmao. Shin x CG = loveeee. I can't wait until they sub the last few episodes! (soo excited) What other kdramas have you watched? Personal favorites are FULL HOUSE, Winter Sonata, Stairway to Heaven, Love Story In Harvard, and My Girl :]

However, Goong is quickly zooming to the top of that last, haha... I love the main actress! And Yul = oh my goodness, hottest actor alive? yes.

[/endfangirlisms]

my favorite: full house, my girl(oh gosh, i love this one :) ), save the last dance for me. not much though. i watched other kdramas, but i'm very picky.

any jdrama fans?

I've watched so many..
I really really liked Mygirl. I did not like LoveSotry in Harvard.. i didn't like the guy and it was just ****ing me off that the guy's english accent was so off
Are you's koreans..? Until cc I did not know that korean dramas were so popular amongst non-koreans lol

My Girl was amazing _ I'm rewatching it again now, hehe <3

For those who watch both My Girl and Goong, which drama do you think is better. Personally, I think nothing can beat Goong, correct me if I'm wrong.
I love Stairway to heaven(choi ji woo is the best actress and so pretty). No one can beat her elegant look.
Goong is hilarious, don't you think!!!!

yes, i do think choi ji woo is wonderful. i don't know about goong. i'm still on episode 15. i'm waiting til the ap exams are over...ugh....few more weeks. i love my girl...it was funny but sad at the same time.

my girl > goong

Other korean dramas > goong

I can't agree with you there NoFX. Other korean dramas are the same with repeated storyline, so Goong is something that is new plus different at the same time.

Yeah sorry I've tried and tried to get into the whole goong thing but I cant lol I might try again after APs.

I remember the period where in every drama comprised of a fatal accident -> head injury -> loss of memory -> etc..
Yeah the repeated storyline was stupid lol

^ lol... true. glass slipper, stairway to heaven, winter sonata... anyone? :P

but goong is definitely different =] a lot about korean culture + traditions too & the sexy actors can't hurt!

(finished my girl again. i can't say how i love lee junki~!)

kdramas always have some sort of love triangle:

he likes her but she likes someone else, but it turns out that that someone likes another person. then eventually the girl will fall in love with the first guy.

sorry if its confusing.

I don't know if all of you can understand Korean, but if you're reading the English subtitles, be warned that they may be of very suspect quality. For example, in Korean, "oppa" technically means an older brother to a girl, but girls use it to refer to any boy that is older than her (although not old enough to be any kind of parental figure). In some subtitles, I've seen it translated literally into "brother", which awkward and incestuous.

anyone in here is vietnamese?

i am
I used to watch korean movies and chinese in viet but my mom said I waste too much money so now I'm only watching it through tv with subtitles

i sometimes watch korean dramas on the multicultural channels and such, and i like listening to the language. i don't understand a lick of it, but it's a cool language to listen to; it sounds a lot like japanese, a language i have some experience in due to anime. no offense, but sometimes when you hear those cantonese speakers, it kind of gives all asian languages a bad name.

are you Vietnamese?

I like the sounds of japanese and korean. It's like.. sharp and monotonic? I dont know how to describe it. I think chinese is a 'loud' language. Even my chinese friend thinks so..

chinese...... i still dont get the whole mandarin/cantonese thing... Like, mandarin and chinese = a subcategory of chinese?? Or Chinese, mandarin, cantonese = seperate languages?
