MCAT biology

how in-depth is the biology section on the MCAT? Is it crucial to take other biology courses besides general biology before the MCAT? (ie. microbiology and molecular biology)

Crucial, as in essential, no. You can go in with a basis just from the introductory biology courses. Would the concepts be easier if you take some other biology courses? Sure, but it's not "crucial."

What bio classes do you suggest taking to prep for this section?

I took neurobio, and I found it helpful for MCAT. Since I took the MCAT, I've taken microbio, and I think that some of the knowledge would've been useful to have for the MCAT.
