im taking AP Biology this year
i also will have AP calc BC by the end of this year

so can i begin preparing for the bio/physics part of the MCAT with the math/bio background that i already have or is it too early

Thanks

i think u should calm down.

If you really wanted to, I guess you could take some prep books from the library (wait until you take the exam before you actually buy the books)...but why don't you relax this year and enjoy your time with your friends and family. You have another 4 years before you need to worry about med school.

Trust me when I say this, just because you did AP bio in high school doesnt mean you know everything you need to know from real college level bio which is needed for the MCAT. Retake iti in college, if you really did awesome in it and did in fact learn everything it will be an easy A, if not you will learn most of the things necessary for the MCAT. But as far as the MCAT goes there is no math, except the basic kind in physics and chem. Bio is grouped with orgo on the mcat and physics with them, so you couldnt study bio/physics sections because they just aren't there. You need a lot of orgo for the bio section.
(note I may have this wrong because my brain is no longer functioning after pulling an allnighter for a bio exam wed.)

The physics section isn't calc-based so calculus is basically useless for the MCAT.

Since the MCAT doesn't require much knowledge, you CAN start prepping for it with only bio/chem AP knowledge alone. But the question is: why? 1 summer or 1 semester during college is sufficient time to prep for the test. Go enjoy your senior year.
