I APed out of both chemistry and physics during high school and really don't plan on taking either in college. Is that a bad plan? I hear physics really isn't as scary as everyone makes it seem and chemistry is just stuff everyone did in AP class. Is that true? I would have expected chemistry to be much harder. Can I basically just pull out my AP Physics and Chem barron's prep book and start studying outta that or do i need to actually sit down with a college book for physics and chemistry?

Well, since med schools don't accept AP credit, you will need to take SOME physics and chemistry - whether it's more advanced than intro or not is up to you and whether you should depends on your school.

Generally, you should take intro physics in college. Intro chem varies a little bit - since you should take biochem anyway, you can skip to organic if you feel comfortable.

For MCAT purposes, however, genchem is very hard and physics is very easy. So it's up to you.
