I was just wondering how exactly an online class like this will work? I'm signed up to take it this summer, and I'm unsure what to expect... Will it be easier than taking it in the spring? Is the final the only thing that will decide my grade for the course? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

im signed up for this over summer-i would like to know this as well…

anyone???

basically you have 3 lectures he releases per week. pretty interesting. Then you take online midterms. Then you have a final. It’s pretty straightforward. BTW enjoy having a class with Presti, he is one of the best profs at Cal.

is it all “openbook” then?

wit the exception of the final since thats actually taken at campus…?

pretty much, don’t bother buying the book tho. U won’t ever use it.

So are you saying that the lectures he releases are sufficient enough resources for getting an A?

UGH you’re one of those “I HAVE TO GET AN A IN EVERYTHING OR I WILL FAIL AT LIFE” Berkeley students aren’t you? Yes, when someone says the book is useless, it generally means lecture has you covered. What else could it mean, “no, don’t buy the book I want you to fail so I can secretly laugh at you”??

Just watch the lectures, take the tests w/ open notes, and enjoy the wonderful Dr. Presti. AND FOR GOD’s SAKE STOP FREAKING OUT ABOUT GRADES!!! If you relax and enjoy you will do far better than if you try to think up every way possible to get an A in everything.

So this message may come off a super *****y, but it is not necessarily just directed at you, Berkeley students need to chill out. The reason so many people here are depressed and hate life and hate Cal is because they create that environment for themselves. CHILL OUT PEOPLE!
END OF RANT

^lols

so is the final the only time you have to be on campus?
