Then perhaps those who claim to be the "true" Christians should reflect compassion in their political aspirations. I have yet to see it and will hold them responsible for hypocrisy until I do. Thanks to the blantant hypocrisies of Bush, the younger evangelcial generation has begun to realize the merits of environmental protection and poverty eradication, but they are decades off from being in control of this church.

Are we prioritizing Commandments now? Have "Thou shalt not lie", "Thou shalt not steal", and "Thou shalt not kill" dropped in the annual rankings? Do we get to ignore those this year so that we can prioritize our own priorities?

Democrats, as deeply flawed as they are, resist war unless it's necessary (like invading Afghanistan), fight to protect the environment, and fight to build a society that serves the poor (reflecting over 2,000 Bible versus compared to zero about abortion, many supporting slavery, and one that could potentially be interpreted as against homosexuality if one were so inclined to seek that interpretation). And yet liberals are called "godless heathens". It's disgusting.

Well said. Christianity in America has become more akin to ethnicity than beliefs. It's an identity, along with all its contradictions and hypocrisies, passed down from parent to child.

in any of grades K 6
16 through 12, then such courses also shall include age
17 appropriate instruction on the prevention of sexually
18 transmitted infections, including the prevention,
19 transmission and spread of HIV AIDS.

The original legislation was intent on teaching kids 6-12 about prevention of AIDS. The revised one, including the one that Obama supported, lowered that to K??? ugh.

Kindergarteners being taught to fend off unwanted sexual touching when no one else is present?
Kids in high school being taught about abstinence?
Kids in high school made aware that they have legal financial liabilities related to pregnancy?
Kids being taught they have personal responsibility around all these subjects?
Kids being taught that they could do themselves various forms of damage by having sex early?
Kids being taught to not pressure other kids to have sex or to do sexual things?
Parents having the say as to whether any of these things are taught to their minor children?
Such teachings being "age appropriate"?

So you are for:

1) pedophilia.
2) teen sex.
3) teen rape.
4) against a sense of personal responsibility on the part of teens.
5) against notice being given to parents about such teaching.
6) against these things being taught at "age appropriate" times.

Way to go Pug. You have as much integrity as John McCain and his lying ads. I can't believe you haven't just given up by now....

Oh, and in case you didn't figure it out, I don't really think you are for those things. But if you are suggesting Obama wants kindergarteners to have education about sex and things sexual, you are using the exact logical basis that I am using to point out that you are pro-pedophilia and so on. So keep insisting that that's what Obama wants, and I'll find out where you live and have police in your city or town show up at your doorstep and check your computer for kiddie porn....

"They're going to talk about pigs, and they're going to talk about lipstick; they're going to talk about Paris Hilton, they're going to talk about Britney Spears. They will try to distort my record, and they will try to undermine your trust in what the Democrats intend to do."

??? Is that the sleazy they're accusing McCain of? HAHAHA! I think that bill he supported was sleazy, the one that originally wanted to teach prevention of AIDS for kids 6-12...then got amended to K!!!-12.

Post #28 is on the mark, along with the Hot Air article on why McCain can't e-mail due to physical inability. It is time for someone to take a stand for the little minds, and I cannot fathom my dear McCain or Palin having to go through a sex education class about sex in their tender years - Eeeewwweee. They would know how to respond to paedophiles, and then they would engage in their sicko modern communication.

I mean, if their bodies can't generate the functions, certainly they wouldn't believe all this stuff about "sex." I mean, which 9-year old kid believes in gods or Santa Claus? Community consensus doesn't encourage it either.

I never got taught about prevention of AIDS when I was young (kindergarten), like millions before me, and I'm fine.

I was taught about "inappropriate touching" and all of that other common sense. Comprehensive sex education for all grades, including the prevention of transmission of AIDS is not common sense.

Just because it didn't happen to you doesn't mean... Geez, where do people pick up these kind of selfish political beliefs?

Great, but this doesn't apply. The bill would have taught about AIDS prevention in grades 6-12. As you may have noticed, grades 6-12 do not include kindergarten.
