McCain lost it this week. It's been a horrible week for him. Some will say that it's because Obamania on the part of the press corps. But Obama looking good did not necessarily mean McCain had to look bad -- and he's looked really bad. It's a shame to see in a man that I was seriously considering voting for in 2000. even if I crossed my normal party lines to do so.

He botched really important information about Iraq -- and ABC was implicated in a kind of cover-up. And he claimed Obama's a traitor.

Now, today, when's complaining about not getting enough press, he cancelled a press conference....

Anderson, where I think this story is probably going to go is toward the issue of age.

John McCain is nearing his 72nd birthday, which is coming this August. You know, in the last few days, he has confused the border of Iraq and the border of Afghanistan. Not long ago, he confused Somalia with Sudan.

And what you're going to do is find his critics arguing the age issue.

And we have already -- already, on "LARRY KING" tonight, for example, there was a vigorous argument, about his age.

Anderson, I do think it's a mistake, but I think the bigger mistake today was arguing, as you said earlier -- John McCain said twice today that that Senator Obama would rather lose a war than a campaign. That's a very tough charge.

Well, I DID vote for him. But he no longer seems to have it all together, and it isn't about his politics. He can't remember the details of the surge he supports. He can't remember the details of his long-talked about captivity. He can't get the names of the major actors in the Middle East right, even when his close friends publicly correct him. I don't think he does this on purpose, and it doesn't have anything to do with his politics - his mind has just gotten a little "squishy".

Hmmmmm, well if gas prices go down s'more and the economy recovers SOMEWHAT, McCain is still in the race. I still like McCain, he's a natural leader and a reformer, and a nice guy. Not the hard line conservative that folks make him out to be by any means. As far as him being made to look bad....well, the media is doing their job in that respect.

I'm kinda hoping Obama wins and does 2 terms. Hopefully Hillary will be dead in 8 years.....I mean if McCain wins, then only does one term, then that would be the time for Hillary to swoop in, and I just can't have that. Keeping Hillary out of elected office is priority 1.

I'd normally be aversed to having a n00b like Obama as president, but Bush has diminished the value of that office enough that it isn't that big of a deal anymore....

Wow... have some respect for the living...

As to your first paragraph, you're right McCain is not a hard line conservative as demonstrated by his run for office in previous years, but its his pandering to hard line conservatives that makes me not respect him at all.

And the media's done a good bit of making Obama look bad. Of course, right now, because Obama's on his world tour and he is acing all the tests so far, the media is generally making Obama look good.

And McCain has done a fair amount of making himself look bad.

It almost looks like the Republicans are going to pull a Democratic move and hand over an election. Lack of good candidates. I'll still likely vote for him but it will be an anti-Obama vote for sure.

The LIberal media making obama look bad, please. They may bring up big issues like his patriotism, but they rarely bring up the hidden bigger issues such as Obama global tax, in which gives 845 Billion more in foreign aid then is currently given. Nobody ever even brought this up.

The average lifespan of an American male is about 75 to 80 years old. In most people, deterioration of the mind would have begun long before this. If McCain wins the election, he would be 76 by the end of his first term. Statistically, chances are that he no longer has all of his marbles. Not to disrespect him, but I found this song, which I thought was funny.

"They may bring up big issues like his patriotism, but they rarely bring up the hidden bigger issues such as Obama global tax, in which gives 845 Billion more in foreign aid then is currently given. Nobody ever even brought this up."

Can you give a source for this information. I'm interested in reading more. Thanks!

Typical misinformation here. First of all, the figure of 845 billion is a tabulation of what this program would cost over many years and it is quoted here to make it sound like it would be an additional year's spending. Secondly, if we did spend marginally more money to address problems this way rather than spend a tremendously excessive amount on useless wars of choice, we'd find the investment was much better made.

Stop with the fear-mongering.

Are you complaining a lot about a useless war that will have cost us trillions of dollars? If not, then I don't buy this disingenuous complaint. And 0.7 percent is much less than many countries spend on similar things.

^ are you hilary supporters still so bitter that you'd completely ignore the conflicting political ideology of a man probably teetering on senility just to spite a candidate from your own party? this is why i can't stand politics. obama is a flawed yes, but to make it worse, you guys show your bias time & time again to exacerbate any his faults just because your candidate didnt win. unity my ass.

Fortunately, these past few weeks most Hillary supporters I know (and the polls seem to support this) have transitioned rather gracefully to supporting Obama. Most seem to be smart, reasonable people with little desire to lop off their noses to spite their faces.

Sorry, I don't care about abortion and I'm not a woman. John McCain has taken so many positions contrary to his party or even with the public (like the surge) and he's turned out to be right.

Under McCain, we will drill, we will win in Iraq. The Fed will do what the Fed will wanna do with either presidency.

McCain supports stem cell, he wants to leave gay marriage to the states (whereas bush wants it banned). A vote for McCain is not a vote for Bush.

Whining about the media is the last resort of the loser. Ask Hillary Clinton.

The media has been very kind to McCain, considering he's making Bob Dole look like Machiavelli. The CBS cover-up is proof that the media is not on one candidate's particular side.

And this is supposed to be a good thing? What about putting all that effort into research for alternative fuels? And just because you drill in America doesn't mean that America gets that oil. Oil is not a nationalized industry. A big oil company will get that oil off the coast of Florida, and sell it to the highest bidder.

So much resentment against Obama for being "egotistical" and "presumptuous". Just come out and say: he's UPPITY!
