McCombs and Cockrell

Hey everyone at UT-Austin,

I'm new on this website and I"m a huge fan of the University of Texas at Austin. It has a great well-rounded balance in athletics, academics, and social life. I've also heard so many great things about its business program and engineering. Both are always ranked as one of the best for every publication. Can anyone fill me in on what the job recruiting is like for both departments? Thanks and Hook 'Em!

If you go to the respective school's website on UT webpage they both have detailed listings of the salaries of the graduates after they graduate, with a breakdown by major choice.

could someone post a link on here for Cockrell students' first-time salary stats? also, how many years does it usually take to get an engineering degree at UT?

This took about three seconds to find. You go to the engineering site and enter "salaries" in the search field.

Student Interactive - Full-time Salary Survey

haha ok thanks!

Is there a list of companies that recruit for Cockrell School?

No, but there are engineering fairs for specific areas all year round. Trust me there are plenty. I went to the EE engineering fair last year, and the big companies were represented. Intel, AMD, Microsoft, Dell, etc etc.

That's cool. But please tell me these big name tech companies recruit more from UT in engineering/business than that school in Norman. Especially around the DFW area. Thanks.

Well our Engineering school is better, so I would imagine so?... Not to mention that a lot of companies have branches in DFW and Austin like Dell, TI, and AMD.

Thanks foxshox. Hey did you know that the engineering program at UT-Austin was ranked 6th in the world by ARWU? That's really awesome!
