I have a question. I thought that McCombs didn't take automatic admissions from class ranks?

@jacky

I don’t think they do anymore. I think it is all holistic now.

At the time that I started this thread the website reflected that a percentage of the class was admitted automatically according to class rank. When we visited UT for my S who graduated in 2012 they told us they had discontinued the automatic admissions policy and that all admissions were wholistic. As for my son he decided to major in engineering,

Oh ok well I want to either go to McCombs or either major in engineering. So does your son go to UT? And does engineering take the automatic admission?

Wow I’m pretty confused. This is now a new thread so it looks like my comment doesn’t make sense. I could have sworn that earlier today this was at the end of an old thread that I started in 2011. Oh well, to answer your question. Engineering admission as far as I know has always been by holistic decision. My S did get into UT engineering but is in engineering at TAMU.
