McCombs. Help!! What are my Chances?? 3.794 GPA

I am currently a student at Austin Community College applying to McCombs UT and I have a 3.794 GPA with 68 hours. I have all 4 indicator course with A's in all four. I am an honors student and a Gold member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. I also Volunteered 30 hours. I have 2 reccomendation letters. Do I have a chance of getting in even with a low GPA???

Hmmmm, this is a close one. I could see it going either way. A lot of what everyone “knows” on here is mostly hearsay. It depends on a lot of different things. The size of the applicant pool, the average GPA of the applicant pool etc. Will your GPA fluctuate any by the end of this semester? You could waited or something. The good news: you’re indicator courses are done, your E.C’s look great and it is always great to have letters of rec. despite the fact that they are not required. The honors will definitely help as well. I think you do have a shot, realistically I think if the average GPA drops a bit from what it was last year then you will have a much better chance. If it comes down to you and another applicant I think you could beat them out. You have a decent shot, and I don’t think you should be nervous.
