McGill '25 decisions

I just uploaded all of my grades, including self-reported midyears, since my semester ended only last week (from the US). When should I expect an admission decision by?

Hey, I’m also an international student applying to McGill. I was told that you shouldn’t report second quarter grades unless they are asked for.

Hi! On Mcgill’s undergraduate admissions website under Self-reporting for high schools in the U.S.A. it says “You must enter at least three 12th Grade courses with first term grades (i.e. this means grades that are NOT IP).”
So I just put all of my first term grades because I figured why not.
Not sure what the guidelines are if you are international abd not US!

Hi! Yea so I did that but do you need to report second quarter grades. I just got my an update that says reviewed, pending decision. Does this mean they’re waiting for my second quarter grades or I’m deferred?

Does anyone know what reviewed decision pending means?

I have no idea what that means. I’m sure you are okay and don’t need to report them if it’s on on the checklist and not requested on Minerva! They might be taking extra time to release decisions for reviewed apps like many other schools.

I called and they will only want your grades if they ask for them. Decision pending I think means your in a gray zone. Are you a US student?

Thank you for the updates! MyD is managing this and is not completely clear on her status.

Where did you call to get your questions answered? She is an IB student and not sure if she needs her school to send in predicted scores.

There is a phone number on the website fir each department in service point

Thanks for the update. I keep wondering if we should update the grades, or just keep waiting…

Who told you that? Was it McGill themselves or your school? Thanks

I called McGill- admissions and they told me. You can go in but it is not physically possible to do on their website if you aren’t requested to add grades.

Thank you!

Yes I’m a U.S student. What does a gray zone mean? Like wait list?

I don’t think it’s a waitlist this is what the website says
e received all the necessary documents.

In the initial review your application was deemed more competitive than those already refused were but less competitive than those already admitted. That places your application in the “grey zone”. Gradually during the cycle, as we fill the spaces in each program the “grey zone” will shrink and the final admission threshold will be determined.

At this time, there is little for you to do apart from checking Minerva regularly for changes. Offers of admissions are released in order of a merit. Check for estimated decision release dates

Please note that decisions may take longer for certain programs or for applicants with extenuating circumstances.

Wow that is a very interesting process and so different from the US. I hope it’s not making your child too stressed? It seems like it’s a definite maybe, which is better than a hard no. Is it their first choice?

Sorry- I was responding to someone else. We are still “ready for review” and yes it my daughters first choice. Very hard to wait.

Is she a US student? My daughter has very similar stats but did not submit test scores so I am hoping she might hear this week.
