Admitted pending results today. Alevel student applied to Desautels and Arts. Applied early November.
@Seablue2002 No different than in the US. An out of state student pays the out of state tuition rate all four years despite living in that state.
Yes. this is same here in the US, but just don’t understand the reasoning behind this policy? Why one is treated as resident and pay reduced rate if not lived in Canada for 3 consecutive months? Thanks.
@Seablue2002 Because the student has not established residency in any province, ever. This would be the first time she has lived in Canada, so that first province is quickly established as their resident home.
In the US, if an American student attends a college out of state, she wouldn’t immediately become a resident of that state because she has already established residency in her home state.
Having said this, it is the Quebecois universities that recognize “Quebec residency for tuition purposes.” I think the province of Quebec requires more documentation to be an official resident. And, I’m not sure why universities in other provinces don’t have the same policy.
congratulations! Where do you see if you received a scholarship? was it a seperate notification or was it in the acceptance letter?
Thanks for the explanation, this makes sense.
Scholarship notification came to him in a separate email notification
@SomedaySanityToo Congrats! When were you notified of your scholarship?
Accepted last night !!
- Faculty of arts
- ACT 31
- Mainly Honors classes, a few APs. also a couple dual enrollment with community college
Submitted my first quarter grades three weeks ago and my scores seem to be toward lower end so I was pretty nervous about being rejected but you don’t need super high scores and a ton of APs to get in like most of the people posting have.
Getting a bit anxious waiting to hear back from them. Approximately when did you get your acceptance from after your status changed to “further review required?”
Congrats! This is great to hear…hopeful for my daughter who also is on the lower end of the test scores, but has mostly honors classes and high GPA.
