Mcgill fees

I was sent info on Mcgill for S's admission. It seems so vague and complicated to me. S is an international student, and will go in art stream ( economics). How do I find out how much do I need to pay?

They have given a range :

Tuition fees* ( based on 30 credits) $14,462-24840
Mandatory health insurance: $600
Immigration fees: $225
Ancillary fees ( some programs have higher complusory fees): $1600
Books and supplies: $1200
Lodging on campus $9500-13600
Other expenses: $ 2000
Total: $27287-$44,065

Please, help me understand this. I know it looks fairly staright forward here, but hwat I dont understand :

What does ancillary fees stand for?

Will my S has to pay this?

Do I have to pay anything else apart from this?

Also, how good is the aid scene in Mcgill? I have sent in the papers, but I am told by frineds not to bank on it because it is really not an aid- giving school.

Pls help.

Thanks

Your student would be in the Faculty of Arts.

Scholarships for international students are limited and I believe the notifications have already gone out. If you are American, Stafford and Plus loans can be used at McGill.

Thanks TomofBoston, went throw the lnk, gave me a fair idea…Thanks

Just like Canadians get screwed over in aid in American decisions, Americans will also get screwed over in aid in Canadian decisions.

Good luck paying for all that, although I wouldn’t get residence. It’s alot cheaper to rent out a studio apartment for 400-500 a month.

@ Raddd: Sorry to disappoint you, but S is not an American Student. thanks
