McGill is 1st tier internationally.

I'd just like to reiterate that I've NEVER heard anyone claim that McGill is = Harvard, or Columbia, or any of those schools.

I've said that via MIT OCW, I've noticed that our covered materials are very similar, however I've always followed that by saying something along the lines of, OCW isn't always the best way to gauge a school. I don't goto MIT, I can't really compare McGill to it.

I'm sorry for anyone who feels like they have to boost about their school, but the truth of the matter is this: McGill is just alright. Now this doesn't mean I don't love McGill, or that McGill provides a sub-par education, it just means that McGill has it's ups and downs. I don't think anyone has any right to compare schools unless they've spent time at both. So to all the McGill vs. Columbia, HYP, what-have-you's, if you haven't spent time at both schools, you just can't talk.

Observe: I haven't spent any time (in class) at Harvard; I, therefore, can't truely compare the two institutions (quality wise), can I?

I challenge any person performing a McGill vs. X Uni comparison to do so without any first-hand experience, and try not looking like an a$$.

Of all the canadians I've talked to, I don't think I've ever heard one even flat out say McGill is number one in canada. I've heard that it's good at somethings, and bad at others (basically making the number one in canada slot a tie between U of T, UBC, and McGill).

...yeah, perhaps the order of this post is out of whack. Either way, if you don't get the point...
