<p>McGill was my number one choice for schools to attend next year. It came down to McGill vs. Cornell, and I ended up choosing Cornell for financial aid (go figure...). Although I'm really excited about Cornell, I'm still somewhat depressed about not getting to go to McGill. I absolutely fell in love with it and was dying to go there. I want to go to medical school for sure (or grad school if for whatever reason I don't end up getting into med school after the first couple tries), and would absolutely love to go to McGill for post graduate education. </p>
<p>My question is, how hard is it to get into McGill's medical school? I know it's hard (especially for Americans) but is it like JHU/Harvard difficult, or not as much. Also, what things does McGill weigh heavily. I know it's a huge research school, so does their medical school love to see research? I just graduated high school, but very well may get published this summer, but it's not set in stone yet. What other things can I do that will help me get in? Also, is there anything in particular that is different about their curriculum, and do they have equal US residency placement compared to other similar caliber US medical schools? I know they have a thing for first nations people, but that appears to be only for Quebecois. I am a Native American (Cherokee) and while I know that will help me a little bit as far as US medical schools, will it do anything for McGill, or could they not care less?</p>
<p>I know it's a bit early, but I'm trying to get at least a general idea of places I'd like to go so that I can plan things out a little better. Any help would be greatly appreciated.</p>
