Anyone else trying to transfer to McGill Fall 2006?

Yes I am....i don't think I will get in. I'm doing average in all my current first semester classes (Bs and one C). Do you think I have a chance of getting in? I think my GPA at the end will be either a 3.4 or 3.5 (not very spectacular)...

Probably depends on your high school record. I know they're really selective though, so I'm nervous about getting in too. I have about a 3.5-3.6 I think...hopefully they take into account its first semester and we're still adjusting to college?

Yeah same here! I really hope they realize that this is our first semester in college...I have a pretty good HS record (3.7 gpa) but I'm really nervous about this semester! wut do u plan on majoring in?

Right now I'm a biochem major, but McGill offers microbiology so I'd go for that. What about you?

Business for me... y do u wanna transfer?

Crap...I sucked it up first semester here at UD. I have like a 3.1, I dunno if I'm even going to bother applying now:(

Don't think that....it can't hurt to apply. You never know. Just do really well 2nd semester to balance it out.

i applied to mcgill, this is my 3 semester at a US university, but it says "further review required" they need this semester's transcript, i hope they will get it in time, cause they need by June 1, and i get my scores may 20...and the time for mailing and all....:S

Wait, they need it by June 1?!?!?! Stupid UD's finals aren't over til May 28...oh no.

Yes, I also received that statement and I called them and they said they needed this semester's transcript as well (I guess it is hard to form a decision based only on a single, 1st semester transcript) and they told me I had to have it in by June 1st, but I'm lucky that my finals over by the 2nd week in May. I was wondering: for those of you who have received "Further Review Required" are you first-years? i would think most 2nds years would have enough college history to be able to determine eligibility for admission.

Hi all! I'd like to ask: are transfers the same as student exchanges? I'm from Singapore and I've just applied (in early Feb) for a student exchange at McGill during the Fall of 2006/07, does anyone know how long they will confirm? My status is "items outstanding"--> I presume that my home uni is still checking my documents before sending them over..

no, for exchange is not the same thing as transger, but i suppose you will have to do the same things as i will need to do to have the visa, so as soon as you're accepte, go and get your CAQ and study permit, i'm not yet admitted....they need further review..i wonder if i will get admitted....

oh i see.. thanks :)

I've applied under "high schools outside canada and US" but just discovered they changed my application to "transfer" since i took some courses in another university before applying :-/

am just interested to know if it's more difficult for transfers to get in? do they have any priority?
and waiting till june 7th? argggggg
