I guess i'm too anxious, but the rumors out there say McGill are not too keen on transfers (especially ones from concordia :-S like me).
my annual GPA is 4.0 but i can't help worrying still :-/

and decision release is only on June.

any other transfers out there? transfers studying at mcgill? anyone else that has an idea?

I applied for transfer, as well as my girlfriend. She found out that she got in almost 2 months ago (29 ACT, 4.0 at University of Illinois, 4.8/5 HS GPA). My application says that it requires further review, and McGill admissions says that they cannot make a decision without my final university transcripts. First semester I had a 3.84, 33 ACT, and 4.8/5 HS GPA. I'm so anxious and tired of waiting!! I hope they don't run out of spots by the time I submit my final transcripts!

I am applying for transfer as well but I doubt my chances are very high for getting in. My first semester I had a gpa of 3.25 at Rutgers University (I hope they take into account that this was my first semester of college) and I am doing much better this semester so I'm hoping it'll kick up to at least a 3.5 for my first year gpa. I also have a 'Further Review Req'd' (they're waiting for my final transcript) which is making me EXTREMELY nervous. McGill has been my first choice since I was a child and I'm kicking myself for not accepting their offer last year. I'm sooooo nervous.

same here tellingonyou. first choice since childhood. how come you ended up refusing the offer? i'm so nervous myself. if they're waiting for the final transcript i guess i can stop checking minerva for at least till june or so. i had a good year in concordia (another uni here in montreal) but these constant rumors about the so called hostility between McGill and Concordia are making me even more nervous.
i guess i'll have to wait and see then... i think maybe the decision dates for transfers from the US and transfers from Canada is different.

I refused (a HUGE act of stupidity on my part) because my family wasn't comfortable of sending me so far away (and cold!) Montreal. I don't think you should worry so much. if they're going to consider stuff like that then I've probably already been rejected (since I rejected them first). At least you've got good grades to back you up. My grades sort of suck. College does not agree with me.

I'm so frustrated that I have to wait! I wonder why McGill is making only some transfers wait to find out decisions. Is it because we are on the cusp of admissions? Also, if I wait past May 1st to withdrawl from my university then I will be losing money because I have to put deposits down. What a pain in the butt!

haha yeah ldj i know what you mean. i loose the deposites too.
tellingonyou i'm sure you gonna love montreal. it's a very cool place. hmm you probably know that by now if you've ever been.
i grew up in israel but ever since i visited as a child i knew i was gonna comeback to live here. now the only thing missing to make this picture perfect is the admission decision - a positive one !
good luck everyone.

I feel our pain! I was just thinking about that since it is time in my school to register for fall courses and I don't want to foot a bill if i might be going somewhere else!

my dad actually went to McGill yael which is why i've loved it for so long (and the fact that i ADORE Montreal) Now if only McGill could see how much I wanted to be there!

Telling on you: wow, same situation! stupid parents...now they realize they should've let me go and my grades suck too much probably to get in...(3.283 first semester, and chem's still killing me now, sigh)

wow ebola! That's like a rerun of my life. :) I hate that now that they are willing to let go of me there's a good possibility it won't happen. GRRRRR.....

nope...probably not til mid-end of June since UD doesn't finish til end of May, so they won't get my transcript. Meanwhile I'm spending every minute studying trying to get my grades up so I get in. Have you heard anything?

hi all, I'm an overseas student applying for a one semester exchange with McGill during the 2006 Fall term. My status has been "Ready for Review" since 16th March... is it the same for you guys too?
