Hello, I’m an international student that was accepted at McGill in Mechanical Engineering and UW in Pre-Engineering
Which one is the best? The costs of the Canadian one is one advantage for me, but not important enough to decide where to go.
My main concerns are the life on the campus and in the city, better community and mainly which one has the best engineering course.
Thanks!
!
McGills reputation is due to its research not the quality of its undergraduate programs.
I would go to the U of W. Seattle is nicer anyway.
Thanks for your opinion!
Still researching about my options and still finding a lot of pros for each city/university

I am from Canada and I therefore I am familiar with McGill. It does have a rather excellent reputation, but that is due to its research, as was stated above. It doesn’t really care about its students and it’s a very large, anonymous community. That said, it is in Montreal, which is one of the most beautiful cities in North America, and one is that often called the “Europe of North America”.
Canada has much friendlier policies about working while you are a student and after graduation than the US does. If that is important to you, McGill might be the better choice.
@lavvie13 yeah, I can see that from what I’ve researched, but still is an excellent college after all. The city also attracts me a lot
@happymomof1 that’s is indeed important for me, as I’d like to stay in the country after finishing my studies
Thank you everyone!

no, not at all. I’ve only been to Los Angeles,Nova York and Miami. Is there anything special about Seattle?
