I am convinced that I want to but this for daily practice only but the earliest edition was made in 2008. Would this book still be effective for present day SATs?

I liked the book.
Worth buying :)

And one thing, don’t forget to review the explanations.
That’s the most important thing …
Cheers!

No. Almost no third party practice tests are effective for the present day SATs. Use collegeboard’s 20 something available practice tests from the Blue Book, Online Course, and here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/1277787-links-additional-official-sat-practice-tests-collegeboard.html and http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/766525-official-sat-practice-booklets-past-current.html#post1063114942

Any other opinions?

I have done half of this book, and personal opinion is CR is far beyond real test and some of the WR Qs is not capture the punch line of real test… Btw,“far beyond” means sometime too difficult and sometimes too easy. Recommend Princeton review’s 11 tests. But the best is Official test.

Can anyone recommend it for reading and writing?

I think McGraw-Hill is the best non-CB stuff. Not great, but decent. The W instruction stuff is solid. CR has loooong passages.

Has anyone seen score improvement from it?

Bump. Is McGraw hill too easy?

That book has really good amazon reviews. Not sure if they’re real though or if the reviewers actually know what they’re talking about. The general consensus on CC is Blue Book+Practice tests you can get your hands on. No one has really recommended anything besides those.

I will say a simple thing.

All the questions fall into 2 catagory. Hard or easy.

That means not like CB tests in a way that the test go from easy to hard. Issac, umm, do you’ve time? Need to talk. Don’t do it if you’ve access to CB tests. Medicalboy, PM me I need to know something…

dexter yeah what’s up? what do you need to talk about?
