Sorry for my constant questioning (probably because I know not much of about medical school) but I was wondering if applicants for MD/PhD programs can still be accepted to fullfill the MD program at the certain school they applied (are acceptances to the MD program totally independent from acceptance to the MD/PhD program)
Thanks.

The UCLA MD/PhD program is such that you'd be automatically considered for the MD-only path if you don't get into the MD/PhD. This may change later on.

But I think I saw another thread on here that said that Johns Hopkins does not automatically do the same thing (only for "outstanding" applicants), so if you don't get into the MD/PhD, then "most likely," you won't be considered for the MD-only either.

So, it seems that the answer to your question depends on which program you're talking about.
