Meal Plan at Drexel

I've heard that the meal plans are expensive and, with the off campus food choices being pretty good, it's better to get a more limited meal plan.

Are freshman required to get the Gold/unlimited meal plan?

no… as a freshman you can get the 12 meals a week and $450 dining dollars which you use for on-campus stores and food places. the cafeteria is very good though and has a huge variety of food, i really like it. as a junior, i still have a 9-meal plan. everyone says the cafeteria is expensive, but the truth is its not that bad when you take everything into consideration including the time you’d be spending cooking meals and buying food. and if you’re ordering take out food every night, you’ll wind up paying a lot more.

Good point-- there’s no way I’m gonna have time to deal with cooking in the beginning.

What meal plan would you suggest?

get the 12 meal plan with $450. i was in rotc so i got the unlimited mealplan because id be up for breakfast at 7am every day after physical training and eat 3492304923 times a week but you probably won’t.
