How do I get the Anytime Meal Plan? I got the letter that said I'm on the Full Meal Plan by default.. is this the only option for students on financial aid?

I sent an email asking them about this; we’ll be able to sign up in the first week at Yale.

No, freshmen MUST have the 21 meals/week plan. You can’t switch out of this until sophomore year. Upperclassmen, on the other hand, can switch into another meal plan.

Wrong. Freshmen are automatically signed up for the 21 meal plan; however, they may choose to select the Anytime Meal Plan, which provides more benefits at greater cost. Selection may be done online beginning on Monday, August 23, at [Student Information Systems](Central Authentication Service | Yale University). Select the “Dining” tab and click on “Select a meal plan”.

I am not sure if OP meant anytime and any number of meals. It he/she did, then an extra $61/year will allow you to have an early breakfast before early morning class and come back after class to have a bigger breakfast.

What are the options for meal plans after freshman year? My daughter, currently a freshman, doesn’t really like the meal plan. Is there a way to give her more flexibility next year? Does the Yale web site explain this somewhere?

^^^The Y 2014 subforum is for students who matriculated last year (fall 2010), and is mainly for incoming students to discuss fr topics. As a result, this subforum will get relatively little traffic. For your question on meal plans, please start a new thread on the main Y forum where the majority of members will see it and can respond.
