Has anyone decided on a meal plan yet? it if so, which one? is there one recommended for freshman? it seems the two most expensive ones would be good-- but the ulimited one means you are eating three meals a day in the same dining room and the 200 meal one is only 12 meals a week, which doesn’t seem like alot. Any imput from current students would be helpful too! thanks!

go w/ the lowest one (150).. trust me... like you figure out that like wow... that means 10 meals a week, and that means some days i'll be eating one meal.... BUT.....

a) tav closes at 6 pm on fri, isn't open on sat, and opens on sun at like 7 pm

b) you go out to eat... A LOT

c) i end the semester w/ a lot of meals left

d) subway doesn't take meal plans

e) tdr closes at 8 pm.

f) who eats breakfast?

g) lets say you have class from 11:45-3:30... are you actually going to wake up early and get food? i didn't last semster...

h) its the idea of doing what the "group" wants to do. If your friends want to get chineese, are you going to say no & go 2 tdr by yourself?

I) the only places that take meal swipes are block (which is like salads and wraps... only open mon- fri (10-3) tav open sun-fri (not open sat & closes early on fri) and tdr... which does get old after awhile...

j) meal swipes DON'T carry over semster 2 semster.. (ie: if you finish the semster w/ 40 swipes... you DON'T get them back. They will not refund your money, and they will NOT give you extra meal swipes the next semster)

so my advice... go w/ the lowest meal plan... and i promise you... u will have extra meal swipes at the end anyway.

Yeah, I was surprised at the honors overnight. Everyone unanimously recommended the 150 Block plan. People will hardly ever eat breakfast and most who eat breakfast grab some good ole milk and cereal in their room. In fact, my host and his girlfriend essentially picked off half their meals from freshman who had extra meals from their required 150 block plan for really cheap.
