Mech Engr or Mech Engring Technology

Hello all,
Just wondering whether or not engineering technology majors can take the FE (FUNDAMENTALS of engineering) exam just like the engineering ones? and also would it be possible to pursue a masters in mechanical engineering if one has a B.S in mechanical engineering technology? thanks for any input.

Taking the FE depends on the state you are in.

As for graduate school, it will he VERY difficult to do it in engineering if your B.S. is in engineering technology. You will have a tough time getting in that way and may have a tough time with the material without taking remedial classes to catch up if you do get in.

If you want an M.S. in engineering, do the B.S. in engineering.

alright got it, and btw is there any preference for employers would they have a mechanical enginering major or mechanical technology major? and also what’s the average gpa in a mech enginering technology major? and in texas would anyone know if FE exams are administered for ETs?

In general, MEs and METs are recruited for entirely different jobs. It is hard to say which a company prefers.
