I am a junior in high school and I aspire to become an aerospace engineer. My gpa and standard test scores are great but I want to stay in state for college. I live in a state where none of the colleges offer an aerospace engineering major, but one of them offers a mechanical engineering major with an aerospace minor. Would this program be beneficial to breaking in to aerospace or should I go out of state for an aerospace major?
Mechanical and aerospace engineering have a very large degree of overlap. Studying mechanical engineering is absolutely a means of getting into the aerospace industry.
