Hi all, I'm currently an ME major and going to be entering my junior year in the fall. Over this summer I've been spending most/all of my time interning at a local firm and also have been volunteering at a hospital. Let me just say that I have realized how much I may hate my possible future career. Just helping people at the hospital and interacting and communicating has been great and it has just made me want to be a doctor again. Also, I'm not going to lie and say that the career outlook for ME undergrads in this recession hasn't had an affect on my thoughts. (A lot of my friends can't get jobs after graduating, it looks rough for me to say the least)

Now, I've always dreamed of being a doctor since I was younger, but I figured I'd stick to my strong suits (math/science) and so far I've done pretty well (GPA: 3.91). Now, I'd still like to finish my ME degree, but maybe study up for the MCAT and hopefully see how well I do.

Anyway a couple questions: On the site the admissions has the following criteria
Required:
* 2 semesters of Inorganic Chemistry with Lab
* 2 semesters of Organic Chemistry with Lab
* 1 semester of Biochemistry
* 2 semesters of Biology with Lab
* 2 semesters of Physics with Lab
* 2 semesters of English Composition (Writing)
* 6 semesters of Non-Science Courses

I have AP credit for Chemistry, Biology. I've taken Orgo I, Physics 140 and Physics 240. Does two semesters of inorganic chem mean I should also take pchem?
Do I still need English composition courses? I know Engin 101 counted as our english credit.
Are these requirements supposed to be done before applying? Because I know applications start going into med school in the summer. Would they let me take these classes during my senior year?

Thanks to anyone who replies.
