Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering? Pomona or UCI?

Hey guys,

I'v just been accepted to Cal Poly Pomona as Mechanical Engineering and UC Irvine as Biomedical Engineering.

I'm trying to decide which major is more better and more importantly which school is better. They both have different things to offer.

I could always go to Irvine and switch to Mechanical. But at Cal Poly it seems a bit smaller so ill be able to be more involved and have the slight ability to stand out a bit more.

Another thing, UC Irvine seems to have the better name, but is it really?

If anyone has been to either school and give me feedback on how their programs were, that would be awesome.

And if anyone could tell give me better info on which major is the better major to go with or let me know another forum or place to ask that, it would be great.

Thanks so much for you help in advance.

For undergraduate engineering, Cal Poly Pomona is better than UC Irvine. They emphasize undergraduate studies, undergraduate research, and hands-on projects. Cal Poly Pomona engineers take over 10 one-unit labs throughout their academic journey that prepare them for jobs in the industry.
