I'm pretty sure I'd like to go into one of these majors, but I'm not entirely sure which one to choose. Which is more difficult? Which one is more "marketable" post-graduation? Of those who have chosen either of these majors, what do you like and dislike about it?

Both are great majors. I started out in EE, but moved to ME after my first semester sophomore year and have never looked back. I hated programming and circuits.

Salaries between the two are not significantly different, at least not to the extent that it should influence your decision.

Jobs are also great for both majors, again, depends on the area and the company as to which will land you a better job.

I liked ME because I found it very broad. You can move into just about everything with it. Don't get me wrong, EE's great too. When you take physics I & II you will get a taste of some of the ME material (i.e. kinematics) and EE material (electricity and magnetism).
