Is there a site that lists the acceptance rate of students into med + dental schools from certain colleges??
I am specifically looking for the med school admissions rate for SMU and UT.
Thanks!!!

No. Your best bet is to scour those schools websites for such data. However, be advised it’s a rather meaningless number. Any school that has a pre-med committee may artificially inflate their number by only allowing “sure things” to apply. This isn’t a universal practice for all schools with a pre-med committee, but it does mean you have to take any reported numbers with a grain of salt unless you know with absolute certainty the committee practices (which you won’t). For schools without a committee, there’s zero regulation of who applies and so even students who obviously have ZERO chance of getting accepted can still apply thus artificially deflating their number.

I have one friend who perfectly exemplifies the latter scenario. She had a 2.9 GPA and a 23 MCAT as it came time to apply. She went to a large state school without a committee, and so, she applied anyways to only three medical schools - her home state school, the state school of her boyfriend’s home state and then the private medical school that had always been her dream school. She fully recognized she was never going to be accepted, and would have told you that had you asked her, but really just wanted to earn an interview from her home state school…even though she knew it wasn’t going to amount to anything more than that. In her mind an interview would have granted her closure, so that’s all she wanted. She didn’t get one, but that’s not the point. The point is, her school couldn’t stop her from applying, and because of her, the school’s pre-med acceptance rate took a hit. But you, as an outsider have no idea what the stories of the non-accepted students are - how close or how far they really were to getting accepted, you just look at the number and thing good or bad, without realizing it’s worthless to begin with.
