I've been reading up on Media, Culture & Communications on the NYU Steinhardt website and it really seems like the best fit for me. I'm wondering if anyone has any inside scoop on the major, including admissions. I've always been strong in English, and my transcript reflects that, but I haven't really been involved in school newspaper or any school publications like that for the shear fact that those clubs in my school have horrid management and I didn't want to be bothered with it. My ECs suggest a strong interest in different cultures (Latin club, Asian Awareness Club, and most recently, Yoga Club), however. And obviously I have many more ECs than that. So basically I'm wondering if I would need to have the generic, editor of school newspaper type of activity to be admitted to this major. Any information is much appreciated!

The essays and supplements MATTER A LOT for Steinhardt MCC. Since our major doesn’t have an audition or portfolio requirement, MCC admissions look at fit and essays over anything else. Write creative supplements and write a fantastic essay. As long as you can show passion and show why MCC is the absolute best place for you, they can overlook lacking ECs.
