hi,

i had an undisclosed medical condition that i got a surgery for. things are dandy now, but i never told anyone about this. i did, however, add it on my common app additional info form. my gc, however, does not make mention of it in his rec letter. will colleges get suspicious? would they try to verify it somehow. all i wrote was a 1.5 paragraph description about what i had and the fact that i had surgery. would this suffice?

Why would a guidance counselor write about your medical condition in his recommendation?

to elaborate how it may have hindered me academically

Shouldn't matter. Your guidance counselor is not supposed to say everything that you do, or everything that happened to you. They are just there to support you and get you in the place you want best. If you dont get accepted to your first choice, ask your counselor to send in a letter of appeal explaining this situation.

If the college has a question about your credibility, they can just pick up the phone and call your GC. (Your GC knows about the situation, right?...If not, you can give the GC a copy of your essay)
