Medical/Engineering Internships or Programs for a Rising Senior

I am currently a junior and REALLY want to find an internships or program for this summer. I am interested in medicine and biomedical engineering, especially neuroscience, and would love to work in research or a clinical setting. I’ve come across a lot of interesting programs while searching, but most of them are way too expensive for me to afford and I don’t qualify for most need-based aid. What programs have you heard of that are free/have lots of merit scholarships/internships? ANY help is MUCH appreciated! Thanks!

On mysummeradvisor.com there is a list of research opportunities for high school students. These are mostly in the life sciences. Also, search the site for academic programs in your state. There are opportunities for state residents, low-income, minority, females or rural youth.

Most research internships are free. Some even pay a stipend!
