Medical Laboratory sciences , YAY or NAY ?

Hello guys I'm a lebanese student , currently senior year of highschool and I'm finalizing my decision for my major . So I'm interested in MLS , and I would like some help from you guys just please tell me everything you know about this major and advices , I'm gonna be studying at an American University just for the record i will leave some questions too .

1) Is it enjoyable ?
2) Will I have a social life or will I be buried under my books all my semesters ?
3) I really don't want a demanding job , just a sustainable one , the lebanese high school system is very hard , just junior year made me suffer so much because we really have to study like hell , so Im looking for a relaxing major , because i really had enough , what can you say about MLS in this case ?
4) I'm very good in chemistry good enough in biology , very well in physics and not bad at all with maths , just to give you an idea . My current highschool average is 12-13 ( reminder , lebanese system is harsh as hell and my school is very strict and demanding)

All other information is highly appreciated

thanks in advance !!

Well it is a basic 9/5 job most likely, you will be on your feet most of the day, and the pay isn’t the best (40,000 USD a year). But if your that good in science it shouldn’t be to hard to do. Honestly though, in the sciences you may as well go all the way to a PhD as that is where the fame and fortune of the industry come in.

It is not a 9 to 5 job. It is a lot of shift, even third shift, and holiday work. The pay is pretty lacklustre for a profession that requires a BSc and post graduate training as well as license in some states. $40k-50k your entire career. It also is kind of mind numbing. You are basically babysitting a bunch of machines, refilling reagents, calibrating and troubleshooting, and tabulating results all from very well established protocols.

You would be better off in nursing or going to professional school.

You guys are very helpful thanks ! But let alone job opportunities what I care about currently is the difficulty of the major , like I said I’m not willing to be so absorbed in studying .
