Medical School Prerequisites

Hello everyone! I am a fall prospective student in BioE, which I will use as my pre-med track.

I am aware that most medical schools require one year of calculus, and that some of them do not accept AP credit.

Because I got a 5 on AP Calculus BC, I plan on skipping Math 1A/1B and taking Math 53/54 during my freshman year. However, I believe Math 54 is not a calculus course, leaving me with just one semester of calculus.

Keeping this in mind, how should I schedule my math classes? I am reluctant to relearn the material from Math 1A/1B, not to mention their unfriendly curves.

Check each medical school for requirements, since they vary. For example, it looks like UCSF[/url”>http://medschool.ucsf.edu/admissions/apply/getting-started.aspx#requirements]UCSF does not require calculus at all. You may also want to ask in the pre-med forum.
