Family friend is looking to go to above medical school in Nevis -- is anyone aware of any private grad school loans for US citizen that can be used at this school?? So far, it does not appear that any US government loans are available as this school is not "accredited for loan purposes" by the Dept. of Ed.

BUMP!! Is anyone familiar with this school and loan options? How about in general for med schools in the Caribbean…any US lenders that will do these loans with a co-signor??

Thx!!

Why would your friend want to borrow tons of money for a “med school” that isn’t accredited for loans? Sounds like a poor choice of a med school.

Uhhh…there are LOTS of non-US great schools that the US government does not “approve” (accredit) for US Grad school loans to be used…therefore, as per my OP, I am asking the community here for any help on private loans…

I appreciate your “help”?

Financial institutions that your friend already has a relationship with ( banks/credit unions) would be the first place to inquire- but that is so obvious, I assume it has already been investigated?

One more bump?

I would suggest to your friend that they do some Google research as to the increasing sizes of US med schools and no or minimal increases of residency spots, making it more and more difficult to get a residency position from abroad.

It can be done, but the process should be entered into with clarity as to the difficulties.

I don’t know where to get loans for a non-accredited school.
