I recently applied for the Medicine and Society program. On the booklet that WashU send us, it said that this program is great for medical school. But I'm wondering how integral is this program when it comes to Medical school acceptance.

What do you mean integral? Obviously if you have it, it may boost your chances of admission. Most schools do not offer this sort of program, so there is no way it would be necessary for your admission.

Not everyone who is in MedSoc continues to medical school, though most start that way and many will. It is not integral to medical school acceptance, but being in this program definitely helps, due to the internship opportunity and close interactions with two wonderful professors since the class size is maxed at 20 for the 2 classes in freshman year. The downside is that it is quite competitive to get in. The topics for the 2 classes in freshman year is a mixture of cultural anthropology and medicine-related topics, or medical anthropology, and I have found them so much more interesting than the topics in my other classes. If you have any more questions about MedSoc, feel free to pm me.
