<p>No. Its boring tedious work. No one knows what their doing in the beginning too. Medicine can be fun, just not a Gen Surg Intern year. That is hell and you get all the crappy annoying little jobs to do. You do work very hard, you do work the long hours. But all the relationships between the staff like that is a rare thing. Like running through patients to see who can discharge the most quickest. Yes, it does happen, and it is one of the happier moments of residency because they are no longer there to annoy you.</p>
<p>If anything once you are an actual solo doc it becomes fun, and you can really start enjoying what you do. But Gen Surg. internship is one of the hardest things around. 100 hour weeks, etc.</p>
